City to consider new Public Works department computer software
The City of Madison’s public works department may soon have a new software program to help in the management of its department. Public Works Director Fred Snoderly answered questions last night from Madison City commissioners about the PubWorks software after a representative of the software made a public presentation on it last week. Snoderly said the data will be uploaded into the software initially by him and his assistant before turning any of it over to others in the department.
Snoderly said all of the references he’s talked to about the software are positive. City Finance Officer Jeff Heinemeyer said it will help his office eventually as well.
Snoderly said the software will cost his department just under 30-thousand dollars and he told commissioners that he has the money in his budget for it. Snoderly said it will help manage employees and the operations within the department.
Commissioner Nick Abraham said it will help out the department and the city as a whole.
Snoderly will bring a final quote and proposal for the PubWorks software to the commission for its approval during its regular meeting next week.
