DSU Baseball canceled Monday

Sabetha, Kan. -- The DSU baseball game with Peru State scheduled for this afternoon in Sabetha, Kansas has been canceled due to a poor weather forecast, with no make-up date schedule. The Trojans are 2-2 on the year after splitting a four-game set over the weekend against Ottawa (Kan.). On Saturday in the season opener, DSU earned a 4-0 7 inning victory behind a strong game from Anyelo Roman. Roman gave up just five hits in the 7 innings and struck out three while walking just 1 batter. Roman also went 3-4 at the plate and knocked in two runs for the Trojans. In Game 2 Saturday, DSU outhit Ottawa five to two, but could not score a run as they fell to the Braves 1-0 in 7 innings.
On Sunday, DSU again picked up a win in Game 1 behind strong pitching. Jason Hersfield went 7 innings and struck out five, while allowing just one run in the Trojans 6-1 7 inning victory. The Trojans dropped Game 2 to Ottawa 11-6. DSU will next take the field on Saturday as part of a doubleheader against Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas.
