Lady Raiders cruise to win over Colman-Egan

Colman, S.D. -- The Oldham-Ramona/Rutland girls’ basketball team solidified their sport on top of District 4B by defeating Dakota Valley Conference foe Colman-Egan 79-44 on Friday night. The victory moved the Lady Raiders to 11-4 overall on the season.
Oldham-Ramona/Rutland took the lead early and pushed it up to 12 points, leading 19-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Raiders used a strong rebounding advantage and a stifling defense to force Colman-Egan turnovers. Carly Carper scored 17 points in the 1st half for the Lady Raiders and they held a 20 point advantage at halftime.
In the 2nd half, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland came out of the locker room on a 13-5 run and outscored Colman-Egan 30-13 in the 3rd quarter, cruising to the victory. Four of the Lady Raider starters scored in double figures led by Carly Carper’s 21 points. BreeAna Olson contributed 19, Kelly Thurow scored 17, and Taylor Stratton chipped in with 14. Carli Johnson led Colman-Egan with 14 points, while Paityn Groos had 10 points for the Hawks.
Both teams will be back in action on Friday as Oldham-Ramona/Rutland hosts Lake Preston, and Colman-Egan travels to De Smet.
