Jammin' Country Game Night Recap
Dell Rapids, S.D. -- The Baltic Lady Bulldogs used a complete game from start to finish, defeating Dell Rapids St. Mary 56-35 on Monday night. The win was the 7th straight for the Lady Bulldogs and moves them to 10-2 overall on the season.
It took a while for both teams to get on the scoreboard to start the ballgame. The Bulldogs and Cardinals traded missed baskets and turnovers, but Morgan Forsch got Baltic on the board hitting a 3-pointer two minutes and 35 seconds into the ballgame. That would be the spark the Bulldogs needed as Forsch scored 11 in the 1st quarter and Baltic hit four shots from beyond the arc in the 1st half, leading by 11, 29-18, at the break.
In the 2nd half, it was much of the same for Baltic. The Bulldogs hit four 3-pointers, forced 13 Cardinal turnovers in the final 16 minutes, and limited St. Mary to just 17 2nd half points. Morgan Forsch matched her first half total of 11 in the 2nd half, finishing with a game-high 22 points for Baltic. The junior hit four 3-pointers in the contest. The Bulldogs also had a double digit game from Allie Walter who notched 10 points, and Amelia Atkins added nine, all from beyond the arc. Kelly Michel led St. Mary with 12 points in the ballgame.
St. Mary (3-9) will next be in action when they host Arlington on Friday, while Baltic will take part in the Big East Conference Tournament beginning on Thursday.
