Another Tough Loss for Lady Bulldogs

Hartford, SD -- A night after a tough loss to Harrisburg, the Madison girls lost another tough game Friday—a 65-40 loss to West Central in Hartford.

The Bulldogs started the game hot. After falling behind 11-2, Madison scored 16 straight points to take an 18-11 lead early in the second quarter. But the Trojans found their stride and rallied to take a 24-18 halftime lead. Senior center Abby Andresen says they struggled when West Central switched up its defense.

Madison struggled offensively with only 29-percent shooting. The girls were also hampered with 23 turnovers—many of which head coach Adam Ericsson says were self-inflicted.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 1-6 on the season, last in their district. Ericsson says the team is at a critical juncture in the season.

Andresen and Chloe Nordling had 12 points to lead Madison while Allie Macdonald led West Central with 20. The Bulldogs continue their road trip Tuesday when they travel to Vermillion.
