Tiger Girls Muzzle Bulldogs

Harrisburg, SD -- Madison’s girls were looking to start the new year with a win last night. But Harrisburg had other plans as the Tigers defeated the Bulldogs 47-34 at Harrisburg High School.

The Tigers took an early 3-0 lead but a field goal by Chloe Nordling cut the deficit to 3-2. That’s the closest the Bulldogs would get as Harrisburg went on a 12-2 run to end the first quarter and expanded the lead at the half 26-10. Bulldog head coach Adam Ericsson says cold shooting hurt Madison once again.

Harrisburg extended its lead in the third quarter 38-18, then held off a late Bulldog surge to get the win and send Madison to 1-5 on the season and 1-2 in the Big 8 Conference. As a team, Madison was out-rebounded 36-25 which Ericsson says was a big factor in the loss.

Bailey Milne led the Bulldogs as she had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Nordling added 9 points while Jenna Selgestad pulled down 5 boards. Harrisburg’s Hailey Halling led all scorers with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Alex Johnson had 9 points as Morgan Beaner grabbed 7 rebounds.
Madison returns to action tonight as it travels to Hartford to face West Central. Tip-off is at 7:30; Pre-game is at 7:10 on Dakota’s Best 1390.
