LaVern Alden Walter, 89, of Howard, passed away July 25th, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Madison.  Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29th, 2011 at Endeavor Presbyterian Church in Fedora, with burial in the Graceland Cemetery in Howard.  Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, July 28th, 2011 with a prayer service to be said at 7:30 p.m., all at the Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard.
He is survived by five children - Marilyn Shumaker of Howard, Joe Walter of Howard, Rose Jamison of Wentworth, William Walter of Howard, and Emily Feldhaus of Howard; daughter-in-law - Susan Walter of Mitchell.
The Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard is in charge of arrangements.
