Dell Rapids to open State Teener Tournament

The State VFW 13-14 year old baseball tournament begins today at Flynn Field. In the first game of the tournament, Dell Rapids will play Parkston.
The Dell Rapids squad is a combination of three teams that played this summer. Tracy Langer is the head coach and says they've been successful getting the former rivals to play together as a team.
Dell Rapids finished runner-up in Region 4 and will face unbeaten Parkston in the first round. Langer says he hasn't seen Parkston this season but is expecting a tough game.
Langer says pitching will be key this weekend.
First pitch is at 12-noon. Following the Dells-Parkston game, Region 1 champion Beresford will play Region 4 runner-up Groton.
