Competition is continuing today at the State Boys Tennis Tournament in Rapid City. 2nd and 3rd round matches are in progress at the Sioux Park Tennis Courts in the Parkview Tennis Complex.

Madison sweeps Region 3A Track & Field Meet
It was a record setting day for the Madison track & field teams yesterday in Dell Rapids. It was a sweep for the Bulldogs, as both the boys’ and girls’ teams took first place at the Region 3A Meet.

Renovations coming to Teener Baseball Diamond
Chances are you have seen some activity at the Teener Baseball Diamond in Madison, but it might not just be for ballgames. A plan for renovations is in place to give the Teener Baseball Diamond a “facelift” and allow for the City of Madison to have the proper facilities to host tournaments.

Lennox downs Canistota 6-0 during CBL opening week
Lennox picked up a win in Cornbelt League play on Wednesday night. Lennox Only One defeated the Canistota Rebels 6-0, to move their record to 2-0 within the league.

West Central looking to repeat as champs at Region 5A Meet
The West Central track & field teams are in Wagner today, participating at the Region 5A Meet. The Trojans are coming off a successful week where the girls claimed the Big 8 Conference title and the boys finished 3rd behind Madison and Vermillion.

Madison Track & Field competing at Region 3A Meet
The Madison track & field teams will take part in the Region 3A track meet today in Dell Rapids. Several Bulldogs have already hit State qualifying marks this season, but the top two finishers in each event today will earn spots at next week’s State Track Meet in Spearfish.

Area Golfers headed to State Tournament
Several area golfers will be headed to Rapid City next week for the State ‘B’ Golf Tournament. At Monday’s Region Golf Tournaments the top 3 teams and a number of individuals punched their tickets to State.

Dakota State hosting Summer Sports Camps
Dakota State University is offering a number of summer sports camps for area youth this summer. The variety of camps kick off June 8th, run through August 2nd and include boys’ and girls’ basketball, football and volleyball.

Madison Girls Golf team qualifies for State
The Madison Girls Golf team qualified for the State Tournament with their performance at the Region 1A Tournament yesterday in Volga. The top 3 teams and 24 individuals will take part at the State Tournament in Hot Springs beginning on Monday.

MHS Baseball open postseason tonight
The Madison High School baseball team will open postseason play tonight. The Bulldogs, who finished the regular season with a mark of 9-2, took 1st in their division and earned the right to host tonight’s contest at Flynn Field.

Trojan Baseball honored by A.I.I
After ending the season last week in Hutchinson, Kansas at the NAIA Baseball Championship Opening Round, the Dakota State University baseball team received some conference honors. The Association of Independent Institutions announced its All-Conference teams and handed out postseason awards on Friday.

Dells PBR defeats Humboldt-Hartford in CBL Opener
Cornbelt League Amateur Baseball got the season underway with a slate of games on Mother’s Day. Dells PBR opened up the league schedule with a victory, defeating Humboldt-Hartford 16-5 in a game shortened by the run rule.

DSU Track & Field wrap up regular season
The Dakota State University outdoor track & field teams wrapped up their regular season Friday at the Concordia Twilight in Seward, Nebraska. Three Trojan athletes claimed first place finishes in the regular-season finale.

DSU Baseball falls to Judson University, end season
The Dakota State University baseball team’s season ended Friday in Hutchinson, Kansas. DSU fell in an elimination game to Judson University of Illinois 9-4 in the NAIA Baseball Championship Opening Round, finishing their season with a 28-28 record.

The Madison High School track teams wrapped the regular season yesterday afternoon as they competed at the Big 8 Conference Track Meet in Hartford. The Bulldog boys won the Conference title, while the girls finished second.

Brookings Marathon this weekend
The annual Brookings Marathon will be held this weekend – the Scotty Roberts 5-K and kids’ races will be tonight, with the marathon, half-marathon and marathon relay Saturday morning.

The Dakota State University baseball team came up short in their first ever contest at the NAIA Baseball Championship Opening Round. DSU fell to host Tabor College 9-7 on Thursday afternoon in Hutchinson, Kansas.

The area youth will get a chance to enhance their baseball skills this weekend in Madison. The Madison Baseball Camp will take place Saturday at Flynn Field for 7-12 year olds, beginning with registration at noon.

Big 8 Conference Meet Today
Madison’s track teams wrap up their regular seasons today as they compete at the Big 8 Conference meet in Hartford. The Bulldogs competed at the Sioux Falls O’Gorman Invitational last Friday, but had Saturday’s meet in Elkton cancelled.

Dell Rapids boys, Tri-Valley girls win Quarrier Invite
The Dell Rapids boys and the Tri-Valley girls took top honors earlier this week at the Quarrier Invitational in Dell Rapids. Eleven teams competed Monday at the DRHS Track.
