Patricia Callahan, age 80, died of natural causes at her home near Colman, SD on February 14, 2012.

Patricia Jean O’Hare was born at Rock Island, ILL on August 18, 1931 to Wilfred and Katherine (Kurth) O’Hare. She married Francis “Joe” Callahan in Sioux Falls on June 20, 1953.

She is survived by her husband - Joe of Colman. Six sons - Jim (Charla) of Madison, Tim (Cindy) of Aberdeen, John (Kate) of Poplar Grove, IL, Kevin (JoAnn) of Brandon, Patrick (Barb) of Carlinville, IL and Tom of Yuma, AZ. Six daughters - Kathleen (Jeff) Fouberg of Mitchell, Maureen (Dick) Callahan of Colman, Coleen (Jeff) Callahan of Anchorage, AK, Eileen (Bryan) Vielmette of Brandon, Doreen (Dave) Bendt of Madison, Char (Victor) Raley of Sioux Falls. 24 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Two brothers- Tom O’Hare of Austin, TX and Robert O’Hare of Anaheim, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at St Thomas Aquinas Church with Rev Robert Vinslauski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She grew up in Sioux Falls graduating from St Joseph Cathedral High School. She worked as a secretary at John Morrells. She also worked at Madison Hardees and at the Royal River Casino in Flandreau. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and North Group Altar Society at St Peter Catholic Church in Colman.

There will be a parish scripture service at 7:00 PM on Friday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
