Montgomery's Furniture expanding to Watertown

Montgomery’s Furniture will soon have a furniture store located in Watertown.  Montgomery’s Furniture president Clark Sinclair announced today (Friday) the purchase of Zimmel’s Furniture and Flooring in Watertown.
Zimmel’s Furniture and Flooring is a second generation family owned business.  Larry Endres, president of Zimmel’s, said that they are pleased to be able to sell their businesses to another family-owned company.
Montgomery’s Furniture also has announced that they have signed an agreement with Nash Finch Corporation to purchase the former 60-thousand square foot
Econo Foods Grocery store facility in Watertown.  Montgomery’s plans to renovate that building and consolidate the three existing Zimmel Furniture businesses into the new location.
Sinclair said that they are excited with this wonderful opportunity to establish a Montgomery’s Furniture store in Watertown.  He said Watertown is a thriving regional trade center and they see a great potential for Montgomery’s to invest in a Watertown store as a part of their growth plans.
Montgomery’s was established in 1888 before South Dakota became a state and is a fifth generation family business.  The current owners are Clark and Connie Sinclair along with their son, Eric and his wife Neala.  The sale will become final on September 1st.
