Madison Crazy Days start Friday

Tomorrow kicks off the 2012 edition of Madison’s Crazy Days. Retail stores will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., with a flea market available from 8-until-6 in downtown Madison. Mochavino will have live music from the Madison Mad Vocals student groups from 9-11:30 Friday morning, followed by Kaci Fodness, and then Sandy Champion will perform her kid’s show and sing-along at Mochavino starting at 2:00 Friday afternoon. Food booths will be available on Egan Avenue from 10:00 until 3:00, Montgomery’s will be giving out Dairy Queen blizzards to the first 100 visitors to its warehouse starting at noon tomorrow, and sign up for the James River Equipment restored tractor will be held on Friday afternoon in front of the KJAM studios on Egan Avenue. The South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems will again hold its water carnival from 3:00 until 4:00, with the ping pong drop and frozen t-shirt contest to follow. The Texaco Country Showdown starts at 6:00 at Library Park, with root beer floats served starting at 5:30 Friday evening.
On Saturday, the Egan Avenue Mile, Tour the City 5-K, and Karen Cummins 10-K road races will start at 8:00 a.m., and the Kids Fun Run starts at 9:00 Saturday morning. Retail stores are open from 8:00 until 4:00, and Mart in the Park will be from 9:00 until 3:00 Saturday at Library Park. The Hitching Post Petting Zoo will be in the Montgomery’s Furniture parking lot from 11:30 until 2:30 Saturday, and the LeBahn Family Train will be offering free rides in downtown Madison from 11:00 until 2:30.
