Green unveils Prairie Village Anniversary painting

A Madison artist is adding his special contribution to the 50th Anniversary celebration at Prairie Village this year.  John Green unveiled his painting for the Village’s anniversary during a special ceremony on Monday at his studio in downtown Madison.  Green talked about how he and Prairie Village Manager Stan Rauch came up with the ideas for what to include in the painting.

Rauch said he was very pleased with the unique painting that Green did for Prairie Village.

The painting will be hung at the village, but Rauch said there will be some prints available as well.

The 50th Anniversary Steam Threshing Jamboree at Prairie Village, which is featuring John Deere this year, is being held August 23rd through the 26th, with the giveaway of James River Equipment’s 1962 restored John Deere tractor taking place on the 26th.
