A farewell reception for Dakota State University president Doctor Doug Knowlton is planned for Thursday, February 9th at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse in Madison.  The reception is open to all alumni, friends, and community members who want to attend.  It starts at 5:30, with a program scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on the 9th.  The Knowltons have requested that in lieu of gifts, donations may be made to the Doctor Douglas and Sharon Knowlton endowment at the DSU Foundation in Madison. 
Knowlton is starting his new position as Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System on February 13th.  Knowlton served 8 years as president of D-S-U.
